Tetrathlon information

TETRATHLON  is a competition consisting of four phases  -  pistol shooting  ( beanbag throwing if you are under 8 ),  swimming, running and riding a Cross Country course.
Winter Triathlons  exclude the riding phase and are a good introduction to the discipline, especially if your riding is not too strong yet.

There are classes for all ages & we have our own rather quirky names for the younger age groups!

• Frogspawn – under 8.  Quite often do just beanbags & running.
• Tadpoles – 8 & 9 years.  Swim as far as you can in 2 minutes .  Run 1000m.    The riding is usually small & in an enclosed area.
• Minis – under 12.  Swim as far as you can in 2 minutes,  Run 1000m. Ride XC,  maximum height 2’6” with a gate to open & a slip rail to negotiate.
• Juniors – under 15.  Swim for 3 minutes.  Run 1500m. Ride maximum 3’
• Intermediate  - under 21.  Swim 3 mins.  Run girls 1500m,  boys 2000m.  Ride maximum  3’3”
• Open – under 21   Swim Girls 3 mins, boys 4 min.  Run girls 1500m,  boys 3000m.  Ride maximum 3’ 7”
• Associates -  21 – 24 .  As for Open classes

It is not necessary to have your own pistol. We have several, which members may use and we will teach you how to shoot at practices which take place at Elm Farm,  Corse Lawn.  Swimming training takes place every Tuesday evening at 7.30pm at Tewkesbury School and is for all abilities, from armbands to county ability !!
